Ziad Nakad Brings a Fresh, Youthful Vibe with His Spring/Summer 2025 Couture Collection
Lebanese designer Ziad Nakad showcased a bold and fresh Spring/Summer 2025 Haute Couture collection in Paris, starting a new chapter in his successful career. The front row featured celebrity guests, including Miss France 2025 Angélique Angarni-Filopon and actresses Leila Ben Khalifa and Cynthia Khalifeh.
SS25 Couture Collection
For the SS25 season, the designer presents a 37-piece collection with bold shapes and a mix of fabrics. It combines rock glam with a more modern, fitted style of elegance. This is his first collection aimed at a younger audience. The designer says, “My new collection is more structured, showing more skin, with a touch of femme fatale. I’ve also used a new material: sequined nets, seen in some dresses, as a nod to my younger clients who are visiting my studio more often. Even the wedding gown is one of the lightest and simplest I’ve made in recent years.”
Like his other designs, Maison Ziad Nakad’s SS25 couture collection celebrates female beauty with voluminous shapes and detailed work like hand embroidery, crystal fabrics, and sequins, all while showing the spirit of the modern woman.
The Lebanese designer stayed true to his signature style and expert craftsmanship by naming his Haute Couture collection “Iris,” inspired by the flower that represents beauty and femininity. The bright colors and soft purple shades of the iris flower were his main inspiration. This season’s gowns mix soft pastels, chic blush, royal black, and shimmering bronze, with floral 3D details and swirling patterns that remind you of a blooming garden. The SS25 collection includes puffed sleeves, structured dresses, and metallic petal accents for an elegant, artistic touch.
“I wanted my Spring/Summer collection to match the season perfectly. We often forget that this time of year is filled with outdoor events, beach parties, and special occasions in hot weather, so I used a lot of pastel colors and, of course, florals—that’s why I called it Iris. I also used lighter materials like crêpe and mousseline,” Nakad explains. “This Spring/Summer season inspired me to add some bold looks—fashionably daring, you could say—because it feels like a new start for my brand.”
Rebranding and future plans
Nakad’s luxury fashion brand is looking ahead. “This season, I took a big step in starting the next phase for my brand. I want my brand to mix classic and modern styles, while always thinking about the different women who love my designs,” he says.
He is getting ready to launch a ready-to-wear and bridal line, as well as a new couture collection in July 2025. “Each season, the Ziad Nakad woman will keep setting trends and inspiring both me and others,” the designer adds.
Haute Couture Week
Lebanese designer Georges Hobeika showed his SS25 couture collections at Haute Couture Week in Paris on January 27, honoring his mother, who he says is the foundation of his brand. Other designers, like Zuhair Murad and Elie Saab, will also present their SS25 collections on January 29.
